How to setup Email and Push Notification settings in Metatrader 4

As you may already know that most of the Expert Advisors and Indicators for Metatrader 4 have Email delivery feature built-in. The most recent Forex robots even have Push Notifications feature which is better as you can get the notification directly to your mobile device like Android or iPhone. Both features are useful, but need to be configured in your MT4 options window before you can use them. Here is simple explanation how to do that.

First, open MT4 Options window by going to “Tools -> Options”

 

Here is how the MT4 Options window looks like when you open the “Email” tab. You will need to enter your SMTP server settings to be able to use this feature. If you do not know what that is, please contact your internet or hosting provider as they will likely offer this feature for free.

 

And here is how the MT4 Options window looks like when you open the “Notifications” tab. This is where you need to enter your MetaQuotes ID to make sure that MT4 Push Notifications are delivered to your mobile device.

 

You can set both, Email and Push Notifications, or just one of them which is better for you. Please note that your Expert Advisor, Indicator or script should have this feature built-in as well.
